Afrocentric Anglicans
26 October 2004
African Anglican bishops are considering establishing a theology, and a number of theology schools, that will conform to the continent's culture, notably its widespread rejection of same-sex marriage. "'The Western world is embroiled in a new religion which we cannot associate ourselves with,'" said continental chair of Anglican bishops, Nigerian Archbishop Peter Akinola. "'We have to find ways of developing our own theology.'"
