Spending Bill Bears Cross
22 November 2004Another unrelated item tagged onto the House's $388 billion spending bill (besides the backdoor anti-abortion measures) concerns a 43-foot cross on city land in La Jolla, California. The cross, which has been at the center of controversy for 15 years, has now been declared a national veterans' memorial by the spending bill.
