Christianophobic Continent a "Christian Club" 14 December 2004 Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan challenged the E.U. to admit Turkey, or admit it was a "Christian Club" that was opposed to Islam. Erdogan was also quoted as saying that the E.U.'s failure to admit Turkey might provoke an increase in violence from radical Islamists.
