God Gene Redux
22 March 2005
A study on the religiousness of identical and non-identical twins at Minnesota University adds a few more numbers to the debate over the import of VMAT2, a DNA strand popularly dubbed the "God Gene," finding that identical twins reported similar patterns of "religious belief" as they grew older and diverged than did non-identical twins. While the study concedes that culture and environment still play a role, it's worth reiterating that so do the definitions of "religion" and "belief" themselves.
