Jarvie’s article offers a clear picture of how these young Muslim women aren’t secluded beneath their hijabs from the world around them, but are involved in their campus community. Her description of how a group of Muslims is trying to establish a sorority on a college campus provides a uniquely humanizing perspective on young Muslim women, especially these women, who are adopting something American and making it their own by laying the framework for their sorority around Islamic tenets.
