Return of the New York Jews
05 December 2005
Julia Duin of The Washington Times mounts the barricades in defense of the conservative Christian-conservative Jew alliance, using news of a private conference of Jewish leaders meeting in New York today to discuss the Christian right, as opportunity to highlight the activities of the "other kind" of Jew -- the "Jews Against Anti-Christian Defamation," for example -- who, unlike ADL head Abraham Foxman, aren't made "nervous" by evangelicals' "ultimate aims." Other than the news of the meeting itself, and the subtle insinuations of the wording, there's little to note in this story, except its illustration of why matching talking heads quote for quote -- one liberal Rabbi Wasgow for one Focus on the Family spokesman -- is no longer a good journalistic strategy.
