They affected my mind a little bit," admits Rev. Anthony Mercieca, the priest who had sexual relations with Mark Foley in the 1960s. It's the latest excuse in the "I was drunk" trend Mel Gibson started and Foley himself nearly fell prey to. For the record, despite the fact that Foley casually made comments about his own altered state when writing the messages and about the abuse by Mercieca to what he knows is a sensationalist press, he officially "continues to offer no excuse whatsoever for his conduct."
