24 January 2007Sharlet: Has God been talking trash about Senator Sam Brownback to Pat Robertson? A year ago, I published a profile of Brownback in Rolling Stone in which I noted that Robertson, when asked for early favorites for '08, had spoken first of the "outstanding senator from Kansas." Now, a year later, Robertson wants a correction. What -- Brownback's not outstanding? No, Robertson feels that I implied that he'd endorsed Brownback. Sorry about that, Pat. But what took you so long to complain? It doesn't have anything to do with a handsome devil named Mitt, could it?
